Tackling Gender Parity
For the past four years I’ve had the pleasure of being involved in Women in Technology. This by no means makes me expert on all issues women face, but one thing is clear to me: the world is now ready to tackle the important task of gender parity in the workplace. People from all over the tech industry are connecting with me to ask what they can do to help. This certainly is a great time to be involved with this mission!
Much Promise, Much to Do
While on this journey, we’ve learned so much – but there is still much to do:
Dream Out Loud
A few years ago, The WIT Network dreamt of producing our own leadership conference for women, and we are proud to announce that, due to the work of many people, this dream has come true! We will be hosting a Women’s Leadership Conference on International Women’s Day, March 8th in Kansas City, Missouri, in the USA.
The theme of the conference is Dream Out Loud. Attendees will participate in exercises that imagine a better future for women in technology and then build actionable plans to facilitate these changes.
We’ll hear inspiring stories and words of wisdom from several industry-leading executives and motivational speakers, including some very inspirational high school girls in technology!
Join us in Kansas City for an experience you won’t soon forget.

- Build a plan: The time is now to build our future. We need to determine how each of us contributes to it. What do I need to do to make gender parity in the workplace a reality? How do I ensure my work is inclusive? How do I contribute to the success of future generations?
Support one another: Women are passionate to connect and eager to support one another. Let’s work together and leverage each other’s strengths.- Continue Learning: Women are excited about learning – from experts, from mentors and from each other. Education and personal growth are such important parts of our journey; they need to be continuous.
